Borggaard - The early Days

Beginning in 1963, Howard Borggaard purchased his first Caterpillar D8 Bulldozer. Being the son of a successful farmer, Howard was always interested in tractors and earth moving. He ran the bulldozer himself with the philosophy of a hard days work for an honest days pay. A man of his word, Howard sealed a project with a handshake and a promise to complete the job. Although times have changed and contracts, waivers, releases and the like are a necessary evil of business today, the philosophy of the company hasn’t changed. The company has grown to be a well respected contractor in the New England area. Howard has always believed that bigger is better and with such a large fleet of equipment, the projects can be completed on time and under budget. Bigger equipment on the right size project creates lower cost production. We simply can move more earth than our competitors in a quicker amount of time for a lower cost. We have completed over 600 large scale projects throughout New England. There truly is not a site condition we have not seen.

Over the years, Borggaard Construction has built interstate highways, subdivisions of small to large scale, industrial sites for major international companies, retail sites of two to two hundred stores, airport runway construction and new landfill construction.
